Glasgow School of Ballet provides a safe environment where anyone and everyone can bring the love of ballet into their lives. We believe that classical ballet should be accessible for all. Ballet is the core of what we provide at Glasgow School of Ballet and we strive to pass on our passion for the benefits of dance education to future generations. Our ethos of “Classical training, holistic approach” allows us to find the best path for each individual through their own personal journey.
Glasgow School of Ballet is a registered Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) school. All our teaching staff are RAD Registered Teachers who are renowned for their dedication and expertise. We are fully registered teachers with a recognised professional body and are required to follow a strict Code of Conduct and participate in annual Continuous Professional Development. Our teaching staff are trained to follow a structured syllabus which is fun and safe, enabling students to progress in stages suitable for their own personal goals or needs and most importantly we are eligible to enter students for RAD exams.
The Royal Academy of Dance is recognised and affiliated with the SQA and from Grade 6 upwards our pupils benefit from this accreditation through additional UCAS points. This is a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work, dedication and commitment it takes to achieve this level of dance training.
At Glasgow School of Ballet we provide classes suitable for all ages, levels and stages for the positive development of each individual dancer. Our classes provide opportunities relevant to the needs and wants of our pupils who attend for a variety of reasons, and whether it is a worthwhile hobby or a professional career we have the combination of classes to help each dancer achieve those goals.
From our adult and child Tiny Dancer Programme, through our Nursery, Pre-Primary in Dance (PPiD) and Primary in Dance (PiD) stages, up through the Grades (1-8) and into our Vocational classes we can put together a programme of study that works best for each individual. We pride ourselves in a holistic approach in teaching and although we return to classical training as a vehicle for the dance education, we firmly believe that to train a dancer you must first acknowledge the person.
Please look at our timetable for the vast variety of classes on offer we welcome pupils from 18months to adults. No experience is necessary as we have such an extensive timetable, we will always find a class or classes that work for your needs.
